This is the first opportunity for members of the public to play the stunning course at RAAF Base East Sale! Designed by RAD and set on the grounds of the now unused golf course, this nine basket course features multiple water carries - strongly recommended to bring some floating discs or be prepared to risk it! The course also shares the area with a confidence/obstacle course, which makes for some unusual and challenging OB areas. This single day tournament will begin by playing the Red tees, followed by the Blue tees. The afternoon session is a repeat. On the day, if numbers are below 20, and the majority of players would like to try something more challenging, we will consider playing one of the championship courses (most likely Gold) for the second round of the afternoon. Registered players will be emailed a players pack.

Numbers are limited to only 36 players, so get your registrations in now to reserve your place. Entry is only $40, $50 for Pro.

First round commences at 1000, allowing players from Melbourne to drive and return in the one day if you're up to it, otherwise there's plenty of local accommodation in Sale, from the Quest apartments, the Matador, to more budget friendly options. There is no accommodation available for non military members on the base. You can get on the course from 0800 on the day to familiarise yourself, but a full run through prior to competition will not be possible.

Floating discs can be purchased online, I recommend the Innova Wahoo, or Innova blizzard plastic discs, but only those whose weight is UNDER 139 grams will float. The Dragon is a midrange that floats, but is difficult to get across the longer water carries. To be competitive, you will need to be able to throw across around 50 - 60 metres of water multiple times. Please note, Sale is often windy, and the water carry holes cross the main body of water in all directions, so you will be throwing into the wind at some point. The light blizzard discs are effective only in a tail wind or if there is no wind. If you purchase floating discs, make sure you spend a bit of time throwing them before you get here.
